The incarnation of power
In the Harley-Davidson world, V-Rods are in a class of their own. They feature a muscular look, an incredibly well-finished exhaust line, a wide rear tyre, and above all, the Harley-Davidson Revolution, an engine which stands out among thousands and provides them with their character: this is a power cruiser, a machine with unmatched performance for a cruiser, yet one with an elaborate design that highlights the motorcycle’s power.
For amateurs of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Revolution engine alone has turned V-Rods into the stuff of legends. Presented for the first time in 2001, this engine is the fruit of several years' development, carried out in partnership with the automobile manufacturer Porsche.
With its 1250cc cylinder, 115 hp, and liquid-cooled engine, the Revolution is a monster of power, roaring every time you press the accelerator. Its distinct sound and extraordinary acceleration capacity make V-Rods a unique line in the Harley-Davidson universe, shaping passions and leaving no one unaffected.
The V-Rod doesn’t hide its roots: its speed-demon look with protruding muscles comes directly from the dragster. The gigantic 240 mm back tyre is an unequivocal tribute to the vehicles with prodigious acceleration which took part in these races.
Its wide chrome handlebar, super low seat, and aggressive look are also nods to the dragster world. The rider is not spared by its sporty riding position: each acceleration is a guaranteed shot of adrenaline.
The foot rests are placed almost level with the steering column, ensuring all of the sensations from this testosterone-exuding machine are intensely felt. A monster of rage and power, with muscles cut in steel.
In order to highlight the performance of such a speed demon, Michelin engineers were forced to make maximum use of radial technology, the spearhead of Michelin production since its invention in 1946.
Thus, the MICHELIN Scorcher 11 was born, the first radial tyre to be introduced to a Harley-Davidson machine. This tyre has extraordinary grip, thanks to its optimized tread rate. Its rigid carcass allows it to handle high speeds up to 150 mph. Conceived for sporty machines, it meets the demands of V-Rod models with style.
